Badminton - Silver or Gold?

Olympic Beijing 2008

Malaysian single shutter, Lee Chong Wei going through to final match tomorrow against China’s Lin Dan. Chong Wei has already made history last night by booking himself into the final with a three-game victory over South Korea’s Lee Hyunil to become the first Malaysian singles shuttler to enter the final.
The pressure will be on Lin Dan who said last night that Chong Wei, the number two seed here, is the best singles in the competition, perhaps to downplay the intense pressure on him to deliver the men’s singles crown that was won only once, by China in the 2000 Games in Sydney.
Chong Wei and Lin Dan are engaged in a rivalry that goes back to the Asian Junior Championships in 2000 when the Malaysian beat him by one point to win. In their last meeting during the Thomas Cup in May, this year, Chong Wei won 21-12, 21-14. They had met twice this year and Lin Dan beat Chong Wei 21-13, 21-18 for the Swiss Open before the Thomas Cup.
